Ciyanjano Revealed
Have you been craving a comprehensive update on the ministries at Ciyanjano?? Check out what our past week has looked like...
Monday, May 18th: Kelly led our Ciyanjano staff in their regular Bible study. Tricia led a Bible study out in Kasupe with some of the local women. Veritas Bible training for pastors arrived for their leadership conference and stayed through Saturday in the Ripley Center. A missionary family arrived and stayed in our Kenya chalet, also through Saturday.
Tuesday, May 19th: Town day - Tricia went to ladies prayer while Kelly bought a new deep freeze and kettle for the group in the team house, and we also did all the shopping for our Bible Club meal and the Champs lunch.
Wednesday, May 20th: Bible Club! Met with our children's ministry team and then did our regular Bible Club program.
Friday, May 22nd: Kelly met with Juma, then we had our regular Champs program. Ciyanjano Champions for Children is a youth discipleship program. We have 12 youths who have completed the first term and it is going very well! Also, Friday night we had a youth camp of around 20 people arrive from a church in Chibolya compound.
Saturday, May 23rd: Juma led our Ciyanjano football club which is a regular sports evangelism program happening on Saturday mornings with around 25 boys.
Sunday, May 24th: Another church arrived with 15 people for a prayer retreat in the Ripley Center. They are too busy praying for us to get a good picture of them.
Monday, May 25th: A day-use group arrived for the amphitheater - this was an especially neat group that came for a marriage enrichment seminar and they even brought wedding cake! This church is made up primarily of refugees from Burundi.
So, that gives you an idea of a Monday to Monday around here. Things certainly scoot along and we are so thankful to the Lord for helping us expand our team. We also thank God for the way Ciyanjano has been able to serve as a support for local churches and also accomplish our own local ministries. We are currently looking for more sponsors for our Ciyanjano Bible Club. Please pray for God's provision in this area and if you would like to help, let us know.
On a personal note, we would like to ask you to pray for us as we continue to pursue the adoption of Joe and Manny. They have been with us for a year now and we are asking the Lord to move this FORWARD!!! These boys are Huckabys and we need to get it official. Thank you for all of your kind prayers and support!!!
