Koinonia Team and Teen Camp! (August)

In August we had the great pleasure of hosting a team from our sister camp, Koinonia Conference Grounds from Watsonville, California. While Koinonia has been a huge support to Ciyanjano in so many ways, this was the first time to have them bring a team to help train the Champs at how to be cabin counselors/leaders. The Champs had really come together as a unified team through the West Hills Team, but this was a chance for them to learn how to love and care for the kids in a cabin for multiple nights and to take the training and apply it by leading discussion groups and to pray to teach the kids based on the chapel messages taught by Uncle Kevin. Lots of games, lots of fun, singing, and the Champs learned to build relationships and trust with the 60+ kids from two different churches in such a short time!. What a joy and a blessing to see three days of training from Koinonia come to life with all the Champs jumping into leading worship, games and prayer, leading the discussions and teaching the kids. By the end of the camp we had at least 3 girls give their lives to Christ during small group discussions and the relationships built in the short time was evident as the kids got ready to leave, tears were shed by both the Champs and many of the kids. Such a great week and the Koinonia team and the Champs were all united in love as they taught the Gospel to these beautiful kids. Pray for those that prayed to receive Chisrt and for the ongoing unity of the Champs as we plan our own camp in December based on what we learned. Thank you Lord for protection over the kids and the team and the Champs during our time together!
