Home Assignment Update 1

Our first month in the good ole USA is past and it has been a wonderful stay so far. We've enjoyed time in Washington State seeing friends and family, and attending our new sending church:  Communion Church in Mount Vernon.
Time with Grandma has been special for us all.

Our beloved former sending church, Oikos, dissolved, and Communion has been kind in adopting us. We are meeting people in the congregation and on Wednesday we'll be speaking at the mid-week program. We are really thankful to be part of this amazing, Christ-centered church!

This Home Assignment is much shorter than we've done in the past because with Kelly serving as Director, it is more difficult for us to be away. Also, with our family being the only missionary family on the ACTION Zambia team at the moment, we have numerous responsibilities. That said, the time is going by fast!!!
Joy and Ethel meet a new friend.
Brooke, from Communion Church, has been generously hosting our family at her home in Mount Vernon. We are so blessed to know this lovely lady!!!!

Jordan and April Levien, formerly from Oikos, have loaned us a mini-van for our use during our stay in the States. It's so wonderful and convenient having a vehicle that fits our whole family. We had a little run-in with some flying gravel, but the back window will be fixed shortly. Thank you, Leviens, for your generosity!!!

One of our goals while in the US is to recruit new missionaries for the ACTION Zambia team. Currently we are in great need of a couple or family to lead the Children in Crisis ministries, and also a couple or family to lead the Pastoral Leadership Development (PLD) ministries on the field. If you are interested in serving with ACTION Zambia, please contact us at thehuckabyfamily@gmail.com or check out ACTION International's Web site:  https://www.actioninternational.org/location/Zambia

On Sunday the 16th, we begin our road travels, heading first to Yakima and then slowly south all the way to San Diego and then eventually to Texas to spend a month visiting Kelly's family (and friends and churches there). Please pray for safety and sanity for our family while we are on the road. We aim to be back in Washington State by mid-August and then return to Zambia mid-September.
