2021 Beginning of the Year Update

It's Good Friday today! Thank you, Jesus, for your obedience to the Father and your death on the cross! I thought I would celebrate by taking a look at what God has accomplished with ACTION Zambia so far this year.

Because of COVID it's been a bit confusing how to go about ministry, but we have managed. We wanted to put a little Bible club meeting together for the kids of all of our staff at Ciyanjano. That was fun!

Our church finally re-opened in-person service so we were happy to get back to church. Lusaka Community Church has also welcomed our new pastor and his family, and it has been a pleasure to get to know them a little bit and have Pastor Chad start preaching on Sundays. Looking forward to Easter service!!

Our truck had a little mishap. Please pray that it could be fixed up good as new. We really use the Landcruiser a LOT.

We were able to re-connect with the Kakoshi kids who used to stay with us. It was really nice to hang out and fill them up with macaroni. Everyone is getting so big!

We hosted another session of a marriage group we are doing with our married staff members. We are watching a Tim Keller video about marriage and then having good discussions about marriage. I really thank God for his grace and help in marriage. Please pray for this study and for all of the marriages amongst the Ciyanjano community.

While we haven't seen a lot of COVID cases around our area (Thank you, God!) our economy here has been hit really hard and families are struggling. So, for COVID relief we have started supporting more meals for children in the community.

At one of the schools we work with our youth leaders that Kelly is discipling, the CHAMPS, visited and shared the bridge illustration in the classrooms. It was awesome to see how excited the Champs were to serve the kids and it is such a privilege to be able to share the gospel in schools.

Since the Landcruiser is out of commission, the Champs were squeezing into the Prado. Please pray for all of our Champs as they finish up their Discipleship 2:7 course with Kelly and then do a camp at Ciyanjano this month with a bunch of kids from an outreach at the beginning of the year. Some of our alumni Champs will also join us. We are excited about doing Camp!!!!!

Of course we always have a lot of fun with the animals around Ciyanjano. This is one of the cooler Chameleons we have found. Really liked the colors!

We are doing home school right now as a COVID precaution. Please pray for us!!! Maybe you can tell from a couple of the kids' expressions that they are not always happy to work on schoolwork!

My little baby donkey, Susie, has been a major highlight of our lives over the past few months. She is the fluffiest and best.
The Reading Room at Ciyanjano is open right now on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. We are trying to encourage some social distancing and studying outside.
Some of you were praying for Aunty Judy and her new baby, Oneal, and they are both doing well. Please pray for Judy, Cheelo, and Oneal as they learn how to be a little family together.

Mark celebrated his 14th birthday. It has been really interesting having a house basically full of teenagers. And by interesting I mean exhausting. But, it can be really fun, too. And by fun I mean noisy. Just kidding!!!! Please do pray for us though.
God bless all of you and thank you so much for your love, support, prayers, encouragement, and friendship! Happy Easter - He is Risen!!!
