Reporting here in the USA

It's August!  We have been State-side for four months and we have just over a month left of our furlough. It's been absolutely wonderful.  Hopefully we have been able to encourage a few people along the way as all of you have been a huge encouragement to us.  We had a lovely time visiting our ACTION USA office in Mountlake Terrace last week.  Usually Kelly is the one taking the pictures, but this time I had a chance to get a few choice shots!  Thank you, ACTION USA, for hosting us!!!

We were able to give three informational sessions at our sending church, Communion, in Mt. Vernon and that was really fun.  Special thanks to Communion for being AWESOME.  We love you guys so much.

I will be hosting a women's meeting at Communion on Saturday, August 6th from 6:30 to 8:00 and all the girls and ladies are welcome even if you aren't a member of Communion Church.  We are just going to hang out and chat and make bookmarks together, some to take home and some for me to give out in Zambia.  It's a great time to ask me questions about life in Zambia!
Communion Church:  1003 S 3rd Street in Mt. Vernon

We've had a few people interested in giving toward our fundraising goals or becoming monthly donors and we really appreciate that so much.  Check out the ACTION site if you are interested in giving:

One thing we really thank God for in Bellingham and Mount Vernon, besides all of the wonderful people, is just how amazing the natural beauty is all around us  The Pacific Northwest is really incredible and we've enjoyed so many beautiful walks.  Here are a couple of our favourite spots.
We always love walking around Lake Padden rain or shine.  This lake is where Kelly and I were baptised so many years ago.  Thank you, Jesus, for all you have done in our lives since that day!!!
This is Whatcom Falls, a gorgeous spot right near where we are staying right now.  It's not Victoria Falls, but it is still quite impressive!

If you would like to get a hold of us before we leave on September 10th, please feel free to email us at thehuckabyfamily@gmail.com -- we love to hear from folks even if you aren't able to see us in Washington.  God bless you all!
