Library Project

This morning I passed by to greet Violet and found her with a group of 20 students from Tubalange Basic School, the government school near Ciyanjano. I assumed it was a class coming down for a lesson and asked her about it. Turned out that these 20 students were 9th Graders who had been kicked out of class for not paying their school fees. So, all 20 of them headed to the library to continue their studies. Surely some of the students will be able to pay up their accounts and return to school shortly, but many of them won't. That's another reason why the Reading Room is so important - it truly helps kids keep up with their studies even when they have to miss a term or two of school because of finances. I wish we could serve them better by stocking more textbooks. If you would like to give to this project, please email us at thehuckabyfamily@gmail.com
