Happy Campers!
One of the coolest things we get to do in our ministry is kids' camps! But this last camp was a very special kind of camp because we got to run this camp with our newest graduating Champs. These Champs have worked hard for over a year in their discipleship group and they have come a long way. They are pumped to serve kids and share the gospel! This was also a special camp because we were following up with a church in Garden compound where we did an outreach with the Champs awhile ago.
Our Champs were energetic and ready to go when it came to leading small groups and cabin discussion times, and games of course!! But, we didn't really have anyone in mind as a lead speaker. We started praying. The Lord really answered our prayers for a great lead speaker for the camp. Pastor Thole from Chisomo Baptist volunteered to be the key speaker on the fruits of the Spirit. Please pray for all of these kids, that God would really be building up their faith and working in their lives. Though Pastor Thole and the leaders didn't do any kind of alter call with the kids, 25 of the kids asked their leaders if they could ask Christ into their lives as their Lord and Saviour and another 12 or so who said that they had thought they were Christians before but didn't really see fruit in their life and now they wanted to change. Another awesome thing is that since the camp many of the parents of these kids have been visiting the pastor in Garden compound to thank him for arranging this camp because they have all seen real change in the attitudes and behaviours of their children! God is so amazing!
