Hut Reno Project

Years ago Kelly and I moved to Ciyanjano into "Tanzania" hut with Lucas, Ethel, and Joy so that we could start managing the property from onsite as we began fundraising for the Director's house.  Tanzania hut served us very well during that time and has also served a variety of folks since including Tyler Dingman and then Holly Moir (maybe you remember one or both of those missionaries).  For a few years now we've been dealing with a bad leak in the thatched roof and slowly we began to use the hut only for meetings... it really became unlivable.  We are so pleased to have been able to re-roof the hut last month as a first step in renovating it and preparing it for new missionaries.  Our hope is to recruit a couple to come live and work at Ciyanjano as well as in the city.  We are exploring the possibility of recruiting from ACTION Brazil, inviting a couple to build up a football ministry.  But our minds and hearts are open to whatever the Lord wants to do, and no matter what, Tanzania hut will be a charming and usable space for Ciyanjano when we are finished with our freshening up!

Doesn't the new roof look so beautiful!?

Here is the roof from the side.

Since we had the thatcher out at the property for the hut roof, we also had him and his team re-thatch a little shade hut we have by the playground -- it has been completely roofless for awhile now so we are glad to have it looking so clean.  This will be very useful come hot season next month.
