Fast Furlough and Fundraising
Hello Friends and Family, Financial Supporters and Prayer Warriors, Campers and Disciples, here is a quick update for you on the Huckaby Family and ACTION Zambia!
First, all of the Huckabys agreed that time with the GRANDPARENTS was a huge priority before little birds started leaving the Huckaby nest. We were able to spend valuable time with Mimi and Papa Huckaby in Texas and then with Grandma Haverkamp in California. After more than 3 years on the field, it was such an immense joy to be with our U.S. families.
Secondly, one of our main priorities was getting Ethel and Joy both settled at the Hauge house in California. We're really proud of these two ladies. They've worked hard to jump right in. It will be crazy to leave them behind as we head to Washington State for the last leg of furlough. But we are so thankful for all God is doing in their lives. On Sunday we will be visiting West Hills Community Church in Morgan Hill (this church began the ACTION Zambia field so many years ago!) and then we head to Washington on Monday. Ethel and Joy will stay with the Hauges.
We look forward to reporting to our generous donors, our supporting church, and ACTION International while in Washington through February. Though this is the shortest time we've spent in the good ole PNW, we hope to squeeze in as much as we can. Please contact us at thehuckabyfamily@gmail.com if you want more details about our schedule.
Without a doubt, FUNDRAISING, is on our minds and we ask you to consider the ministries and upcoming projects that we would like to fund:
1. Camp Ciyanjano Maintenance
2. ACTION Pastors College (APC) - currently in year 3 of 3 for this class of 17 pastors
3. 'Ministering to People with Trauma' Conferences coming in July
4. Potential training on children's ministry coming up in June
5. Sponsors for our graduating and past Champs to continue their training and education in different fields. Currently we're looking to send multiple Champs from the 2025 group to a year long Bible school.
Please prayerfully consider giving to any of these above needs. We are always very happy to add new monthly donors for any of the ministries or for our family's needs.
While we are here in the States, our most recent group of Champs (youths in our discipleship group) is preparing for their graduation when we get back. Our Camp Ciyanjano staff continues to host church groups at the facility. Our Reading Room continues to be open and free for the public. And, we thank God, it looks like the rainy season has been pretty good so far.
Thank you so much for caring about what God is doing with these ministries and our family. May He abundantly bless you!
