Ron Haverkamp, My Dad

Thank you so much to all of you who have been praying for our family. My dad, Ron Haverkamp, died on Saturday night, and is now with Jesus. We are very sad to say goodbye to him, but we are also truly celebrating his new life with Christ. When I think of my dad, I picture him playing his guitar, and I imagine he's doing that now in heaven, learning new songs and praising God.

My dad loved music; he played guitar and the keyboard and it was his favorite way to relax. He enjoyed golf and movies. He also had a real gift for making people feel at home and feel welcome. Whether grilling some ribs or handing you a bowl of ice cream, he always wanted to make sure you were comfy and happy. Dad was a real goof ball, a fun daddy and grandpa. He was devoted to his family and we look forward to being reunited with him someday. My very very favorite picture of all time of my dad is the one in the middle of the group of pictures - it's of my dad and brother when my bro was just a sweet little guy. We were visiting some of my parents' friends and they had a pool, and of course we were having a great day; it's one of my fondest memories.

We love you, Dad, and we are really going to miss you!!! Thank you for everything! We'll be seeing you.

Please continue to pray for our family, especially my mom, as we mourn my dad. The burial is Wednesday, next week.

This is so beautiful, Friend! Such a neat way to honor him and remember those special times. I think you must have got a few of those special traits from him!
Crying with you, sending you hugs, and so, so, so, thankful you got to see his heart surrender to his Savior!
Love, love, love you all!

Great pic, Tricia! I'm glad you guys were able to make it back to see him. He was a great guy and acted as a kind, generous host for us many times. He'll be missed!

This is very sad news. Ron and I made several trips to Europe and other US trade shows for Carver. I loved traveling with him and his easy going style and our love of a good german beer. I will never forget the "garage band" booth at NAMM where we had all these fine players stop by to play a few licks. We had some great times on the road. He was indeed a good man. My best to you and family.

I worked with your Dad at Bose and later knew him at Carver; I enjoyed every experience I had with him. He will be missed. Sorry for posting so late, I just found out the other day from another Carver alumni...

I also worked with Ron at Bose and kept in touch with him in the subsequent years, but our encounters were only several times a year. Like Mark, I just found out about Ron's death, and I thought Ron was one of the most decent and personable friends I ever had. May he rest in peace.
